County Dredging
Posted on Mar 24th, 2026 Comments (0)

Manatee County plans to perform canal clean-up dredging in portions of the CSOA canals during 2026. The work will focus on outfall areas and will generally include dredging about 10 feet on each side of the outfalls and 10–15 feet into the canal to remove sediment and improve water flow.
Dredging is typically done by truckload (about 15–18 cubic yards of material). Standard pricing is around $9,000 per truckload, but homeowners may be able to take advantage of a discounted group rate estimated at approximately $3,500–$4,000 per truckload, potentially lower depending on the number of projects coordinated while the contractor is already working in the area.
Please provide your details below if you are interested in optional dredging near your docks or boat lifts while equipment is in the area. Participation is completely optional. Homeowners who indicate interest agree to being contact by county selected Bayside Dredging LLC.

Water Markers Project Complete
Posted on Feb 6th, 2026 Comments (0)
Great news!
The water marker project is complete, and all 16 new markers are now installed.
A big thank you to the Waterways Committee and our neighboring communities
for their collaboration and support.
Pilings were 25’ long. 2’-4’ was cut-off when they hit Rock to give the min. 6’ into the Seabed.
Otherwise, full length Piling, 10’ into the Seabed...

Jetting into the Seabed, after drilling through the Rock...

Attaching the new Lights (with “Bird Spike”). I gave them 1/8” x 2” SS Hex-Head Screws.
Hex-Head will be easier to remove in five years when the Batteries need to be replaced.

Note: The Black Plastic Piling Caps still need to be installed. I wanted them to
Install the pre-Charged Lights on the Pilings to maintain the Battery Charge from the Sun.
The Lights have been programmed per USCG Regs.

Note the “Drill” that is used to get through the Rock...

All new USCG Red/Triangle and Green/Squares. Much larger than the originals.
You can see these from a long way off at night with a Spotlight...

Plastic Wrap at the Water Line to keep the Marine Growth from chewing the wood.
Our new Entrance Markers #1 and #2. Note that the USCG Signs not just point to the
Front and Back of the Markers, but we also got USCG Approval to mount a Sign on the
Side of the Marker, one facing South and the other facing North. This is the actual
Direction of the Boater traffic, not from the front due the Sandbar. The larger Signs will be
Able to be seen, especially at night, from the Sister Keys, #1S & #2S.

We removed the old #6 and now use the Manatee Co. “No-Wake” Marker
As our new #6.

INSTALLATION OF NEW CHANNEL MARKERS

INSTALLATION OF NEW CHANNEL MARKERS,
PLEASE USE CAUTION IN AND OUT OF THE CHANNEL
Dear Neighbors,
The Sunshine team started installing the markers yesterday. They look great and will be a massive improvement. They should be fully installed next week. During the installation, there will be no or a limited number of markers. Please use caution going in and out of the channel as it can be hard to navigate without markers and the low tide.
Thanks for Bob Mulligan for braving the cold to oversee the project and take pictures.

2026 Community Update
Posted on Jan 1st, 2026 Comments (0)
Dear Coral Shores Homeowners,
Dear Coral Shores Homeowners,
As we begin the New Year, we wish you and your family a happy, healthy, and prosperous year ahead.
2025 Highlights & Community Achievements
• Entrance Lighting Project: Thanks to the hard work of Mike Bailey and Kurt Rasco, we replaced the entrance lights for under $6,000—far less than the initial $14,000 quote. This is a testament to what we can accomplish together as a community.
• Christmas Lights Upgrade: We improved our holiday decorations and plan further upgrades in 2026. Special thanks to Ron Crowder and Ace Hardware for generous donation of Christmas lights.
• Street Captains & Engagement: A big thank you to our Street Captains that have connected with our neighbors to collect emails and remind about outstanding dues. Our goal for our community is greater engagement and as part of this we implemented several initiatives in 2025 to improve communication and transparency. We aim to distribute communication via email and text and would ask that you visit the website to add your mobile number so that we can send text messages. We have now made participation possible via Zoom for those traveling or not in the area for the meetings. Thank you to Bobby and Gwen Woodson and Tide Table who generously donated a gift card for the Street Captain who collected the most incremental dues in 2025.
• Improved Communication: We now post Treasurer Reports, Meeting Minutes, and Water Marker Project Presentations on our website. Please visit the site to stay updated and add your mobile number for text alerts. Participation in meetings is now possible via Zoom for those traveling or away.
Looking Ahead to 2026
• Water Markers: We have cleared approvals and are ready to install the water markers. Sunshine Dock and Seawall will perform the work as soon as signs arrive and they are able to install.
• Entrance: We would like to upgrade the entrance with new shrubs to enhance our community’s first impression. If you have interest in helping with this effort, please let us know.
• 2026 Dues and Financial Stability: The dues for 2026 are $200 per property as we face continued rise in operating and maintenance costs affecting our community, and general cost-of-living expenses. In 2025, 132 out of 189 properties paid their dues. We aim for greater participation in 2026. In addition to the ongoing operating expenses, we would like to do projects to upgrade our community and also replenish the waterways fund as we will be using approximately $25,000 to replace the water markers. It is important to ensure long-term financial stability and proper maintenance of our neighborhood.
2026 Dues Information
• Amount: $200 per property
• Due Date: March 1, 2026
